THIS is the home you want to be the THIRD owner of!! You couldn~t pick two better owners to precede you if that was a possibility. The first owner intended for this to be his family~s forever home, so he selected the most perfect lot he could find on the best street in the neighborhood and customized the floor plan for their immediate needs and also with the long term in mind.He kept a close watch as the house was being built, taking lots of pictures at different stages of the construction, making sure everything was being done to plan. He had the upstairs redesigned, giving up the fourth bedroom and re-arranging the order of the rooms allowed for a nice spacious hall bath, a walk-in closet for the enlarged second bedroom AND a real laundry ROOM, in 1981 that was virtually unheard of!Then, thinking of the future, he made sure that the footprint of the main level powder room is such that it can be easily converted to a full bath for the main level office turned bedroom for times when the stairs are too much. In spite of all his advanced planning, his future changed course and he had to sell~The second owners just happened to be looking for their first long term home when this house came on the market. Being a military family, they had been moving from place to place following posts and never staying in one place for more than three years at a time. As soon as they walked in the front door they knew THIS was the one! They recognized the quality and could tell the home had been well loved and cared for. It was a stretch for them, but they knew the location and the house were worth digging deeper for, so they did.Over time she would discover that the house happens to be the largest version of this model in the neighborhood, with super generous room sizes so well laid out that it~s a most comfortable place to call home! They landscaped the grounds lovingly, in particular in the backyard, where beds were planted to suit the level of light of the spot they are in. It is also fully fenced and an ideal home to share with canines, for the dog lovers out there.Inside, the hardwood floors were waxed and covered with thick rugs to protect them from foot traffic. The bathrooms upstairs were both remodeled over time and the kitchen was beautifully updated as well. The major systems all have regular maintenance contracts and the roof, installed by the original owner with long life shingles, has been checked periodically by a professional roofer and has continued to receive a clean bill of health.About that landscaping~ some of it is more than just pretty. One day, over 15 years ago, the basement flooded. To make sure that could never happen again they had extensive landscaping and drainage work done designed specifically to keep water away from the house. And just in case, a sump pump was installed inside. The basement has been ever since, the sump pump has remained idle. And yes, it~s an in ground basement. Not everyone cares fo those~ however, there are some great benefits on the main level as a result: The garage is even with the main level of the house~ no hauling groceries up the stairs! And the front door too, no big flight of outdoor steps to climb in all kinds of weather to get to the front door! And what about the back yard? Let the dogs out, go light the grill, go water the garden~ whatever you~re doing in the backyard, it~s one step outside the family room! Is this upside worth it to you?For the current owners it has been the most perfect place to live for many years, however, as certain things change over time, for them the location is no longer as ideal as it once was and they~re having to move. Their change in direction means the door is now open once again and it~s time for the third owner to find this wonderful home on this great street. Could this quiet paradise right around the corner from downtown Vienna, Tyson~s Corner, the Silver Line Metro, be where your next chapter begins???
